At the core is a carbon filament tucked inside a compact tube. We spec these at 400V on purpose. It keeps the current draw in check, even over longer runs. Wattage tops out around 2500W, giving you serious heat density for rapid thermal transfer. The tube runs about 300mm long, with a diameter around 10mm to fit standard mounting hardware. That small footprint means you can slip it into tight spots where a bulky heater just won’t go.
What It’s Made Of: Quartz, Halogen, and a Simple R7s Connector
The tube is quartz, plain and simple, because it can take the heat. It stays steady, even when you cycle the lamp on and off again and again. Inside, halogen fill gas shields the filament, keeping the output consistent over long stretches of service. The connector? R7s. It’s a bi-pin design that locks the lamp in place and carries the full load without extra fuss. Installation is straightforward: line up the pins, seat the lamp, and you’re good.
Where It Shines: Heat on Demand, in Tight Spaces
You’ll find these lamps in equipment that needs to heat up fast—plastics processing, sealing, component testing. The 400V/2500W combo packs intense heat into a small package, so you hit target temperatures quickly. But here’s the honest part: that much heat density needs proper cooling and clearance.
